Meet Joy and Daniel

Joy and Daniel are orphaned children who are presently residing with their grandmother at Ugwuaji Community in Enugu State, Nigeria. The two siblings were identified by Bina Foundation during a free medical and charitable outreach to the community. Their grandmother, Comfort, is a hardworking farmer but due to her tuberculosis illness had to stop working. Her two sons died from untreated tuberculosis, including Joy and Daniel’s father. She is currently residing in an the uncompleted building the children’s father started before his death. The children sometimes get sick with malaria and other common tropical diseases. However, due to lack of money, the grandmother treats it with local herbs since she can’t afford the hospital bills. Currently, she is trying to survive with the meager earnings from selling fire wood to people. “I have faith in God and I hope to live and see the children grow. I thank Bina Foundation for their visit and noble initiative”, says Comfort.
